MONDAY Jan. 8 – March 19
6 – 7 p.m. Hatha 1. Lewis Centre. The basics of yoga postures and breathing practices. It differs from a Gentle Yoga class in that it assumes that you have a fundamental level of fitness, as well as no pain in your body. This class will help you develop strength and balance as well as flexibility, while giving you tools for stress reduction.

7:15 – 8:45 p.m. Hatha 2. Lewis Centre. If you’ve been taking classes or practicing on your own, consider joining this class. You’ll need to be aware of your breath, and familiar with basic principles of alignment. You feel strong and balanced in standing poses, comfortable in Downward Dog, and you’re ready to take your practice to the next level. Register as above.
TUESDAY Jan. 9 – March 13
11:00 a.m. – noon. Chair Yoga. Native Sons Hall. For those who cannot or do not feel comfortable on the floor. Focus is on breathing, body awareness, relaxation, stretching and gentle postures. We finish with a meditation to rejuvenate body, mind and spirit. 250-338-5371.
WEDNESDAY Jan. 10 – Feb. 21
3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Yoga Plus. Lewis Centre. Curious about Yoga, but wondering if you could manage it, in a round body? Try it out in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. We’ll be in chairs, or standing – no need to get up and down from the floor. 250-338-5371.
5:00 – 6:15 p.m. Yoga for Guys (who’ve done some yoga). Lewis Centre. You’ve done some Yoga in the past. You have a basic grasp of breath-with-movement and pose alignment. In this class specifically designed for men, enjoy some stress relief and an increase in flexibility. Challenge yourself a little or a lot with the suggested variations given. 250-338-5371.
